“Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun.”

After Highschool I joined another band and this time was only the lead singer (as I write this, I realize that these experiences are what fueled me to practice guitar 9-10 hours a day). We were performing all original music, like everyone else in OHIO, and were pretty good but I was the young “kid” in the band and didn’t get the respect a young man thinks he deserves, so we broke up.

Shortly after I became a husband and a father and went into the Church years of my life. This is where my songwriting changed forever. I continued to have bands and was active in the church music team. This experience was a great time in my life when I learned who I was and maybe more importantly, who I wasn’t.

Since that time I have been ever writing, recording, and performing. I am grateful for the opportunity that I have been given to share my lifelong love for music with you.

I started riding this musical wave in Ohio when I was a young boy, around the age of 4. I would hear my dad’s bluegrass band rehearsing and I took a lot of interest.

I wouldn’t say that playing the guitar came naturally to me (I actually wanted to play the drums) but I would say that music in general did. I was always singing and making up my own songs even at that age.

When I got to high school, I joined efforts with a couple of other kids and we started a band. I think I was only allowed to join because I was the only one not afraid to sing in front of people. At that time, I had only a mild understanding of the guitar from a rock point of view. I could play anything by ear after I heard it, but had no lessons and only knew 1 scale. Can you guess which one?

Did you guess the Blues pentatonic scale? LOL
